CCSL_logo_Christ_Church_School_-01Dedicated to helping children reach their full potential in a Christ-centered environment...

Christ Church School is the Mother’s Day Out Pre-School program sponsored by Christ United Methodist Church. It was established in 1987 to provide an early childhood education in a Christian environment. It serves children of all races, nationalities, and religious creeds, infants through age five.

The school is an extension of the educational ministry of Christ United Methodist Church and is under the direction of the Christ Church School Governing Board.

In our classes, emphasis is placed on developing each child’s self esteem and on developing the creative potential of each child. Experiences are lovingly prepared by qualified teachers to help each child grow spiritually, emotionally, physically, intellectually and socially. The staff is experienced in working with young children and receives training in the field of early childhood education throughout the school year. Activities are carefully planned with many opportunities for self-expression, freedom of choice, self-reliance and spontaneity.

Kindergarten and Bridge Classes

Did you know that CCS has a Kindergarten and Bridge Class? The Bridge Class has met since 1990 and is for those children who could go to Kindergarten but need a little more time to mature. The class meets Monday through Thursday from 9:30 am until 2 pm. The class is small; 13 children is the maximum with a teacher and a full time assistant. The children also have enrichment opportunities with music and PE several times per week.

The Kindergarten class meets Monday through Friday from 9:30 am until 2 pm. We have excellent teachers, Kimberly McGeehon and her assistant Missy Tielke. The Kindergarten class is also small; 13 children is the maximum. The Fort Bend ISD curriculum, which focuses on the Texas Essential Kindergarten Skills, is used in this class. There are also enrichment opportunities with the children going to music and PE several times a week. There are many opportunities for small group and individual activities.

You are welcome to visit anytime. We will be happy to answer your questions, or call the school office at 281.980.2582.

Curriculum

The curriculum varies for each age level. A wide variety of resources are used to plan activities for the children and are available for the teachers in the school office. At Christ Church School, we strive to provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Our teachers prepare for the children to learn through active exploration and interaction with adults, other children, and materials.

Classes

Classes are organized according to a child’s age on September 1, (which is the guideline set by the Fort Bend Independent School District). Children from 12 months through 5 years may be enrolled. Classes meet two or three days per week, depending on the age of the child. The Kindergarten class meets Monday through Friday. All classes begin at 9:30 am and end either at 12 noon or 2 pm.

Staff

All of our staff are experienced in working with young children. Each of them participates in an on-going program of in-service training, specifically designed for early childhood educators. The teachers enjoy working with young children and exhibit respect and concern for each child’s unique creative potential.

The Director of Christ Church School is Beth Carter. The Assistant Director is Becky Neese. Questions? Contact this email.
