Christ Church School Director

The Director of Christ Church School, a 12-month position, is responsible for the overall operations of the School. Additionally, the Director is responsible for creating a safe, child-centered and Christian-based learning environment that meets and exceeds State Licensing Requirements of Texas Health and Human Services: Child Care Licensing for the State of Texas. The Director will further promote the vision and ministry of both Christ Church School (CCS) and Christ Church Sugar Land (CCSL). The Director will uphold a culture of respect, and collaboration among staff, parents, school, and the church, and represent CCS and CCSL with the upmost integrity for this position.

Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry

The Director of Youth and Young Adult Discipleship at Christ Church Sugar Land provides visionary leadership and relational ministry for middle school, high school, and young adult students. This role develops engaging programming, teaches and disciples students in the Wesleyan tradition, supports families, and builds strong volunteer teams. The Director also leads young adult initiatives, collaborates with church leadership, manages ministry administration, and helps foster a safe, Christ-centered environment for spiritual growth and connection.

Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry

Christ Church Sugar Land is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of the church. This role provides leadership in budget management, payroll, benefits, compliance, and financial reporting while supporting the mission and ministry of the church. The Accounting Manager works closely with the Senior Pastor, Finance Committee, and church staff to ensure faithful stewardship of resources.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversee the financial operations of Christ Church, including budget management, financial oversight, and purchasing approval.


Key Duties
  • Prepare and administer business policies and procedures in accordance with government regulations, audit guidance, and best practices for church environments.

  • Serve as staff liaison to the Finance Committee; manage departmental and overall church budgets as approved by the Finance Committee and Church Conference.

  • Process payroll and benefits each pay period; reconcile monthly with the general ledger.

  • Work with Christ Church School Administrator to reconcile school bank accounts and assist with payroll, benefits, and tax reporting.

  • Reconcile Realm to PowerChurch.

  • Collaborate with Finance Administrator to reconcile pastors’ reimbursable accounts.

  • Prepare annual financial reports for the Texas Annual Conference.

  • File tax reports (quarterly 941s, Wage & Tax Registers, W-2s, ACA reports, etc.).

  • Prepare reports related to Workers Compensation, Medicare audits, and other compliance needs.

  • Assist in evaluating annual benefits offerings to ensure best value.

  • Serve as liaison with payroll and benefits providers.

  • Work with Senior Pastor on Workers Compensation and liability insurance records.

  • Maintain sensitive records, including incident reports, background checks, Form I-9s, Safe Sanctuary documentation, and pensions.

  • Support the Staff Parish Relations Committee in preparing and reporting annual salaries.

  • Coordinate with Building Manager on ongoing building projects.

  • Contribute to a sense of community and support among church staff.

  • Attend executive staff, Finance Committee, weekly staff, Church Council, and other appropriate meetings.

Note: As part of shared ministry, staff may occasionally be asked to assist outside of their regular responsibilities.


Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business operations

  • Strong administrative and leadership skills

  • Excellent communication abilities

  • Knowledge of IT management

  • Computer proficiency

  • Budget management experience

  • Ability to plan, resource, and implement effective programs

Employment Requirements
  • All employees of Christ UMC and Christ Church School must:

    • Complete a background check to help ensure a safe environment for children and youth

  • Volunteers in children and youth ministry are also required to complete annual training and a background check.

  • Employees must attend an information session within the first year of employment.
