Youth Ministry
Youth Thrive Here
Christ Church Youth Ministries serve both middle school and high school students. Our goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space for our youth to grow together in Christ within a supportive community. We encourage our youth to discover and nurture their gifts and to assume leadership roles. We offer both local and distant mission opportunities during the summer, as well as numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

5th & 6th Grade
Sunday Mornings • 9:30 AM • Rooms 206 & 207
“56ers” is a new ministry just for 5th and 6th graders to ask big questions, explore the Bible, and grow in their faith. The group will meet Sunday mornings at 9:30 am in Rooms 206 & 207, in the second floor of the church building. We will be learning bible basics, church history, and about the founding of the Methodist Church. This will prepare and equip our youth for confirmation while also doing meaningful work with missions and having times of fun and fellowship! It’s a chance for them to build friendships, grow together, and take steps in owning their faith.
High School Life Groups
Wednesdays • 6 - 8 pm • The Lounge
High School Life groups meet each Wednesday from 6-8 pm in the Lounge. This is a time where students can come together to have conversations about faith while discovering new friendships in a fun and relaxed environment. Each week, we start as a large group to catch up on how God is working in our lives, we then break up into small groups to dive into our study! This semester, we’re starting off with a 7 week study over the Armor of God. Please register on Realm by August 15th or contact Eric Solorio for more information!

Ezri Gomez
Director of High School & Young Adults
Ezri Gomez serves as our Director of High School and Young Adult Discipleship. He is originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, and grew up along the El Paso–Juárez border. For the past four years, he has lived in Dallas.
Ezri attended Centenary College of Louisiana, where he earned a B.S. in business administration. He then attended SMU’s Perkins School of Theology, where he met his fiancée, Calyn Donaldson, and graduated in May 2026.
One of Ezri’s favorite seminary courses was Doctrine of God, in which he studied the writings of Thomas Aquinas in the Summa Theologiae. He loved the course because it deepened his understanding of who God is and reminded him that God’s love and grace are present in everything we do and everywhere we go.
When he is not at church, Ezri enjoys watching movies at AMC, visiting Guitar Center, trying local taco spots, working out, and playing sports.
Rylie Shipp
Director of Middle School & Recreation
Rylie Shipp serves as our Director of Middle School and Recreation Ministries. She is from Missouri City, Texas, and grew up at Christ Church Sugar Land. Rylie’s passion for youth ministry and sports is reflected in her belief that both can help students grow in their faith in Christ.
Rylie attended LeTourneau University, where she studied kinesiology and played softball. Her favorite class was Understanding Youth, and she also completed coursework in sports and recreation management.
Rylie’s goal in youth ministry is to help all teens feel confident in their faith as they enter adulthood. She works toward this goal by ministering to students throughout their time at Christ Church Sugar Land.
When Rylie is not working, you can find her lifting weights at the gym, cooking, playing softball, or spending time with her dog, Lorrie.
Rev. Jordan Czichos
Pastor of Youth & Young Adult Discipleship
Jordan Czichos is our Youth and Young Adult Discipleship Pastor. She is from Spring, Texas, and was raised at Spring Woods United Methodist Church.
Jordan attended Stephen F. Austin State University (go Jacks!) where she studied Music Education and Vocal Performance. She then attended Duke Divinity School immediately following the completion of her undergraduate degree and graduated in 2021 with a Master of Divinity and a certificate in missional innovation.
Her ultimate goal as a Christian and pastor is to work toward living life abundantly with others in relationship with God (John 10:10). Jordan strives to live this out every day by building friendships with those around her and sharing the same love that God demonstrates to us.
When she is not working, you can find Jordan exploring local eateries around Houston, listening to podcasts, going to CycleBar, or hanging out with her cat, Theo!
