Journeying through the holidays can be emotionally overwhelming and perhaps even painful for those who have experienced the passing of a loved one. Death compounded with isolation, separation, and familial relationships can make the holidays challenging. Therefore, we would like you to join in a session “Surviving the Holidays’, hosted by a trained facilitator, Alan Schleimer. We will gather on December 6, at 6:00 p.m. for dinner in Room 11/12; please enter through the playground’s office door. After dinner, we will gather for the session to explore and learn ways to embrace, remember, and even celebrate the lives of those who have passed.
Topics that we will explore:
PREPARATION
ACCEPTANCE
SOCIALIZING
MAKING HEALTHY BEHAVIOR CHOICES
SHOPPING
COPING STRATEGIES
SETTING BOUNDARIES
REACHING OTHERS
We do not have all the answers, yet we believe that we can better care for one another, learn effective ways of moving forward through grief during the holidays, and imagine a hopeful future.
If you would like to participate, please register here by December 3, 2021.
